On Christmas Parties, Church hopping and getting arrested.

Last Friday was Rendition Digital's annual Christmas Party and it was held at Friday's Glorietta. Great food, great sounds and it dawned on me that it's already my third Christmas Party at RDI!! Anyway, getting-old-feeling aside, it's all good - the only problem is that... I didn't win anything. I was hoping for the TV or the personal ref... but oh well, there are things that aren't meant for you!

Anyway, after the Party, Joane suggested that we go to Videoke. I tried to object since I have a fully booked schedule the next day - it's Joy's daughter's baptism, and Cyril's wedding - but decided against it. We were at Platinum until 4AM and I was watching the time because the baptism is at 11. I got home at 5 and slept... I woke up at 8.

With 3 hours to go, I wanted some more sleep - but I know it's impossible for me to sleep again. So I prepared. I planned to get some coffee but my mom asked for the car keys to get the car washed up because they just got home from the Wet Market and the car reeks of fish. I was thinking that my day will be ruined - again - by my mom. So I took an especially long bath since I know the car won't be back in 45 minutes. She's not yet around when I'm finished so I got irritated.

When she got home, she didn't have the car with her, and I had a temper tantrum. Hehe. Anyway, after all the commotion, we took the tricycle to the Carwash and got the car, still incompletely cleaned and took off. I grabbed my morning coffee, loaded some gas and went to Malate Church. I was the earliest among my friends so I just relaxed a little bit. The baptism is for an hour and after that we drove to Robinson's Ermita for my most awaited part of the baptism - Lunch.

After hanging out with college friends, I headed off to meet my officemates. I got to Ortigas within the hour and went to Marikina. Since we didn't know the way, and the map is pretty vague, we followed Fely's "guidance" which got us lost. The other guys are already at the wedding and I was afraid I'd miss this once since it's been years when I viewed a wedding and it was when I was a kid and got the part of the Ring bearer. Hehe.

After a few hours and a sored left clutch foot, we got the the wedding which was already done. The newlyweds are already on their way out of the Church. So we went for the most important part of the wedding - Reception.

The food was great and we got to see Cyril cry. Nyahaha... Jay and Marc took a lot of picture of that moment by their robotic top end cameras. Unfortunately, I also got picked for the Bachelor/Bachelorette game - you know, the garter thing game. The game - The bachelorettes were lined up and the bride will throw flowers and the person who failed to get one will be the unlucky girl who will get her legs touched by a stranger. The girl who won was not my type (or anybody's type for that matter) so the guys did their best to blow the balloons (which was given by the groom - the smallest balloon - will get their hands dirty). There were a few balloons popped (for the extreme wish of getting themselves safe) so in the end, Cyril picked the unlucky bastard. Fortunately, it wasn't me.

Anyway, after eating and well wishing, we finally headed home for my much awaited SLEEP. This time around, we followed the map... which got me pulled over by cops for the first time. I've been driving since HS and it's my first time to get caught... Anyway, since I am not the bribing kind, I gave that cop my license and waited for my ticket. I know it's Christmas time and they cops are "working" double time. I got to see quite a few pulled-over guys these past few days and I know what the cops are up to.

Fortunately, Fely's mom is working on the QC city hall and she can get my License and she shouldered the expense since it's her fault! Haha. Joke. :D Ok, so I gave her the ticket and drove (without ticket that will serve my temporary license) to EDSA. We got to EDSA, dropped Fely off and headed to Makati so I can drop Agnes and Ronan off. I am at panic time since I lost my license and I had no identification and we got a wrong turn in EDSA and instead of getting caught for swerving, I took the SHAW route. On Shang, I thought a cop waved me over because I THINK I beat the read light. Instead of stopping, I pushed the pedal and went ahead... or was I just paranoid? Then when I looked behind me there were flashing lights which I thought from the cops, a wave of relief washed over me when I realized it was just a car.

When we were again EDSA bound, Ronan told me that he also saw the cop waving me over. Did he catch my panic stricken expressions or did he felt my driving is a little bit off since I am gearing up/down wrong, or my speed is pretty slow? We got to Buendia in one piece and finally I am cooling down. I dropped them off safely and I got my groove back and I was, once again, driving like a maniac. I finally got home unscathed.

I slept and wow, it was an eventful day.
