Fete dela Musique

Paramita

Skabeche

Sinosikat?

Saturday. The best musical event of the year, well, at least for me. Fete dela Musique is held every June yearly. This year it was organized by PULP (sigh). Being under PULP, means that you can bet your ass that it will now have Fete T-Shirts ready for purchase AND Vernon Go will be commentating (double sigh).

Vernon Go and his super old and annoying: "The night is young and so are WE!" (which he repeat throughout the gig for 20 times or more). Me and the guys were spared from Vernon Go because we were at the World Stage and Go is in the stage were the Rock guys play. Once again, I saw a swarm of "Rockers" wearing their black shirts and some wearing wierd getups.

Ok, so we went to the World stage. To bad we missed Jeepney Joyride because we ate at Cloz's home because it was his Mom's birthday and who am I to waste another chibog opportunity? Well, the other bands that played were good. There were Funk and blues acts and of course, Reggae and Ska and Soul. We were skankin our asses off. Yeah, it was good and fun. Paramita (and some Rock band) also played on the World stage and I don't get why. But they were good and I am always impressed with that band.

After all the skankin and dancing, we went to the Rock stage to get Cloz's brother so we can call it a day.

It never ceases to amaze me to see the "Rockers" run to the pit whenever they hear Vernon mumble that Cheese, Grayhoundz, Slapshock or Chicosci will play. It is like Titanic, only the guys are running in the ship instead of outisde. Pak, where the hell do I got that analogy? Anyways, the emokids are running amok again. Singing with Chicosci. Haha. Well, I admit, I am an emo kid, up to now, but come on! Why the wierd get up and all? Do you have to show to the world how lousy you are? Wearing your wierd haircuts and tight jackets?

Well, Fete has been always about musical unity. I am not discriminating, I am just annoyed by the way kids these days act. Well, I might be getting old for this, for the past years, when watching these events, I just go with the flow with the "to hell with it" attitude, but this time, I am really now starting to get annoyed.

Next year, I hope PULP will not sponsor this event! They chose a stupid venue! We were all wet from the rain!
