Movie marathon!

I bought a lot of movies (buy one take one original DVDs for 199!) and watched a couple last weekend and early this week.

Silence of the lambs has always been freaky and for lack of a better English word - nakakapraning. The next one, Hannibal was disgusting and disturbing, I mean, seriously, feasting on a man's brain and letting a child eat it? Come on, this psychologist needs serious help here. Next was Brokeback mountain, which is equally freaky and after the movie, you are not so sure if you enjoyed it or not, and lastly, I watched Serendipity. Haha, cheesy love stories are not my cup of tea. But I had quite a laugh there.

Also, last night, I bought a bootleg Chinese DVD of Love in the Time of Cholera. The movie, as usual, is a bit lacking as far as staying faithful to the book. Additionally, the movie is a bit cheesy. Of course, the lines are a bit similar with the book, but when it is actually said, it becomes cheesy.

Especially in one part of the movie depicting the honeymoon of Fermina and Juvenal. In the book, reading lines like: "I always thought your 'thing' is ugly..." could be, hmmm, a page turner? But when you hear it delivered by an actress... it's just not right... Well, the one who have read the book would understand.

Anyway, since I know what will happen (or will not happen), I was just curious how parts of the book will be shown in the movie. Since it's a story that spans long years, there are parts that are not included. Now when I knew that the movie is soon to expire its welcome... it stopped! I just cursed under my breath for having bought a bootleg copy. Turned off my 360 and went to sleep.

I'll return this DVD to the store. Damnit!
