Never met arms like yours.
Love in the time of Cholera is a (heartbreaking) novel by Gabriel Marquez it's about the undying love of a man for the love of his life. He has held on his true love for more than fifty years. Waited painfully until he is in the inevitability of old age.
I have never read a novel so heartwarming and depressing at the same time as this one, but still, it's a very good read. Though this novel may not suit everyone with regards to its literary style and writing. But digesting every words in this novel may very well be the best experience you will ever have.
The story is superbly crafted, with the battle of Florentino against his lost love ensuing beautifully. His battle against life and its challenges are carefully planned, every bits and pieces of history woven together to build this masterpiece. It's not my cup of tea as far as literary choice is concerned, but given with Marquez's talent, I'd gladly read another heartwarming piece such as this one.
