Nostalgia!
Almost done with Crisis Core, the only item in the FF7 compilation that means anything. What I mean is that it is really tied with FF7, not simple cameos that fail to stroke the embers of nostalgia.
I really felt like a little girl in a Backstreet Boys concert when I saw Nibelheim - you know, Cloud's hometown. Everything just feels right. The water depot spot where Cloud and Tifa cuddle... er, hang out. The Shinra Mansion with every room reconstructed to 3D form. And many more... I've been scouring the net for quite a while for FF7 pre-rendered backgrounds and its Crisis Core counterpart, and man, it was really the same thing! Well, only 3D.
Of course, I know the FF7 story wholeheartedly, and I can tell you its entirety while sleeping, but seeing the stellar story on another perspective is really great. Of course, with the addition of Crisis Core, a lot of debates will ensue, because, honestly, like any other media universe, when a single plot of a story is updated, it will be somewhat distorted... it will be jumbled... take, hmm, X-Men for example. Yeah, stupid alternate universes, new teams, sub teams - the works. And it boils down to your capacity to intertwine the goddamn stories in this single universe, now add up other Marvel characters in the mix and you have a whole new encyclopedia of stories to amalgate.
Anyway, Crisis Core is a really great, wonderful thing. It adds up to one of the greatest, if not greatest story out there perfectly.
All I can say is its really stupid to have a character who kicks major 20 foot monster ass to die because of gunshot from a friggin' old school rifle!
Thanks SquareEnix!
